The GeoHealth 2002 proceedings were edited by Jan Rigby, Chris Skelly and Peter Whigham and were issued alongside the 2002 Spatial Information Research Centre colloquium.

At the 1999 SIRC colloquium in Dunedin, Yuxiao Li, Peter Whigham, George Benwell and Nick Mulgan presented a paper on the design of a general-purpose three-dimensional spatial information system. The paper addressed the representation, storage and handling of three-dimensional objects. A photographically convincing scene and a spatial database capable of maintaining volumes, relationships and geometry are related problems, but they are not the same problem.
